I love the cooper-young hostel! I had such a lovely time getting to know the neighborhood, Penny & Hedwig, and other locals. I felt very comfortable and it was a chill and welcoming vibe. There were other people staying at the hostel that seemed affiliated with the church downstairs. They were very friendly, but not around much. My only negative is that there isn't a washing machine in or near the hostel. The showers/bathrooms were clean, the room was tidy and with a good amount of space. The kitchen had everything you needed and if you ever had a question Penny & Hedwig were so easy to chat with. The energy felt so good that after my first day I decided to extend my stay by several more days. Thank you 🥰🙌🏾

I’m so happy that I found this place. I wish Hostels were more common and came back around. I highly prefer this style of stay to a hotel or Airbnb. The bed was extremely comfortable & clean. The kitchen & bathrooms were clean too. Overall a thoughtful, cute & spacious place. Cleaner than most decent hotels! I only stayed 1 night but got to chat a little bit with a handful of different travelers and the people hosting. Great conversation with Penny and Michael too! This place is ran so well and kept up nicely which I appreciate so much in a stay. Everyone was kind and respectful. I felt safe and comfortable here. I’m thankful to have found it! Hope to return to Memphis again soon!

Absolute gem! We stayed for just one night in a private room for 2 and felt its warmth and friendly, welcoming communal vibe at once. Hazel, Mylo and Alex are excellent custodians of the space and could not have been more helpful with our endless questions about the (amazing) neighborhood. AM coffee is plentiful and strong, and there are many spaces to hang out, work, and socialize. Highly recommend.

So good! And the hostel has a lovely cat named 'Cash". Right in the heart of the Cooper Young district in Memphis and super laid back, friendly, clean, and secure. We have stayed there a whole bunch of times over the years when in town, and we will be back!

The hostel was a great option for me. I needed a place to stay for about a month. It was conveniently located near my work, close to downtown, and in the heart of the Cooper-Young neighborhood. The room and restrooms were very clean and the other common spaces provide great opportunities to meet folks from around the globe!

I am so glad to have found this place on Google Maps. I needed a place near my son's house near Midtown. The managers (Hazel, Miguel, and Jesse) are very nice, and this hostel is very charming and comfortable. It has every amenity needed, and it makes me feel like I'm at my grandparents' home of long ago. They help you know good things about Memphis, and the Cooper-Young District is one of the coolest places on the planet. And of course it is affordable. I will be a "regular".

I have stayed there before and would stay there again and recommend to fellow travelers. I enjoy having community spaces and events and the Cooper Young area of Midtown Memphis has plenty to offer if you are staying a little longer, I was just overnight on a coast to coast road trip. I had a comfortable, unfussy stay and felt nourished, clean, and rested for the next day of travel ahead.
